Woody Atterberry was born and raised in Anacortes WA. His father Robert had a 30+ year career with Alaska Ocean Seafoods and Woody would frequent the big boats when they came to Anacortes and at Harbor Island in Seattle.

 

When he was 18 he was able to serve aboard the factory trawler Alaska Ocean for a pollock trip in the summer of 2001 as a dishwasher. He participated in several Puget Sound commercial crab seasons in between. He has now been doing it full time since 2015.

Woody has also crewed on boats in the Washington coastal crab fishery since 2019.

 

Woody lives in Anacortes with his wife, Eliza Mae, and they two children.
