Jake Wilson:
Term Expires:
2024
Jake was born and raised in Bellingham, WA. He started out his fishing career in middle school by crabbing and gill netting in Puget Sound. In 1988, when he was 15, he went seining in AK for the first time. Over the years, he continued to purse seine for salmon, as well as Sitka sac roe, Togiak herring, Dutch Harbor herring, roe-on-kelp in San Francisco Bay, squid fishing in southern CA, gill netting in Puget Sound and Bristol Bay and trawling for cod and pollock out of Sand Point. Jake got married in the spring of '97 and bought into the Puget Sound crab fishery in 1999. He and his wife liked the flexibility that working close to home gave him once they started having kids. When the first pots came over the rail after he started crabbing it was to buy diapers! Now when they come over, it is in hopes of getting those kids through college!
